Sesame Green Beans

  • 1 lb fresh green beans
  • 2 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic crushed
  • 1 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • sesame seeds


  1. Clean and trim green beans.
  2. Steam green beans until bright green and soft but still slightly crunchy (about 5 minutes.)

  3. Place steamed green beans in a dish and toss with sesame oil, garlic, ginger and salt & pepper to taste.
  4. Sprinkle with desired amount of sesame seeds.

Recipe Notes

Packing Tip:

Place green beans in a container with either a twist top or snapping lid.

Serving Tips:

This dish can be eaten warm or cold. If you wish to eat it warm, re-heat covered in an oven-safe container in an airplane oven at 275 degrees for 10 minutes or in a hotel room covered in a mini skillet over medium-low heat for 3-5 minutes. Be sure not to over-cook the green beans.
